How do I obtain a temporary tag?
Please check with your local BMV/DMV title office for additional information and requirements.
Can I get a copy of my memorandum title?
The credit union does not keep copies of memorandum titles. If you need another copy, you can request one at your local title office. Be sure to bring a state-issued photo ID and payment to cover the fee for a printed copy. Fees can be found on the title office’s website.
Where can I get an out of state inspection done?
Vehicle inspections are typically available at most BMV locations, sheriff’s offices, or dealerships. It’s a good idea to call ahead to verify their availability.
Why don’t you have my title?
Our top-tier partner in title processing operates from a centralized location staffed by professionals with expertise in all 50 states. This standard practice enables a more efficient processing workflow.
How do I get my title?
The lien holder (in this case, RVCU) will inform the DMV, either electronically or through submitted paperwork, to indicate that you have paid off your loan. There may be a delay to ensure that the loan payoff funds clear your account and to allow time for the title paperwork to be processed.
Your title may be held in one of two forms: either as a paper title or an electronic title.
- For paper titles held with RVCU, they will be sent to your address on file within 14 business days.
- You can check if your title is held as an electronic title and confirm its release by visiting the BMV’s online title search. Once released, you can visit any County Clerk of Courts Title Office to obtain a clear, paid-in-full title (fees may apply at the Title Office). To find County Clerk of Courts offices or for more information, visit the BMV’s vehicle titles section.
Once you have your title, keep it in a secure and easily memorable location, such as a fireproof lock box. This way, when you’re ready to trade in or sell the vehicle, you’ll have no trouble finding it.
What is an electronic title?
The Electronic Lien and Title Program is a system that enables certain state BMVs and lending institutions (lien holders) to exchange vehicle and title information electronically. This process allows the BMV to transmit information directly to the lien holder, eliminating the need to print and mail paper titles. Once the loan is paid off, the lien holder sends an electronic message to release the title.
How long will it take to get my title/lien release?
Once the loan is fully paid, there is a standard processing period of 10 business days, after which you will receive a paid-in-full letter by mail, containing information regarding your title.
After the 10-business day processing period, can I pick up my title at an RVCU office location?
Unfortunately, no. We do not keep titles at RVCU office locations. Your paid-in-full letter, which includes title information, will be sent to your address on file 10 business days after the loan is fully paid.
What is the turn around time?
Unless further information is needed, your request will be processed within 24 business hours. You will receive an email confirmation once the request has been completed.
What is the turn around time?
Please allow 4-6 weeks for this request to be processed. You will receive an email confirmation once the request has been completed.
Can I have the title be sent directly to me to complete the state change?
The titles must be forwarded to the DMV or title agency to ensure that title clerks have the necessary documentation.
