Watch Out for Spoofing Scams

Spoofing is when scammers pretend to be River Valley by faking our phone number or sending texts and emails that appear to come from our fraud team to trick you into sharing personal information.
Know the signs and keep your info safe.

What it Looks Like

  • A call or message appears to be from us but is really a scammer.
  • They claim there’s suspicious activity on your account.
  • They ask for personal details, like PINs, passwords or account information.
  • They create a sense of urgency.

What We'll NEVER Ask For

  • Your PIN or security code.
  • Text or email verification codes.
  • Full Social Security number.
  • Full card number, expiration date or CVV.
  • Anything sensitive unless you contact us first.

How to Stay Safe

  • Don't share info with anyone who contacts you unexpectedly.
  • Hang up and call us back at 937-859-6260 or visit a River Valley location.
  • Check your accounts regularly and report anything suspicious.
  • Set up a codeword for added security.
